Hi! You are seeing this page because we detected that you have an earlier version of HgEclipse installed, and now you wanted to upgrade to the latest version. This time it requires a little efforts, please read on.

First the great news

You might have already heard that HgEclipse (the plugin currently installed in your Eclipse) and the original MercurialEclipse project will reunite with the 1.6.0 release. (Details to be announced in May 2010.)

The join has many consequences. One of them is in naming: the joint project will use the name MercurialEclipse. Unfortunately, the name change causes that it requires some manual work to upgrade from HgEclipse 1.5.0 to MercurialEclipse 1.6.0, even if they are esentially two versions of the same project. If you have HgEclipse installed, please follow the instructions at the bottom of this page. We promise, future upgrades will be as smooth as usual.

Upgrading from HgEclipse 1.5.0 to MercurialEclipse 1.6.0

All right, you have HgEclipse 1.5.1 installed in your Eclipse, currently. It is a dummy (empty) plugin. Its only purpose was to remove the components of HgEclipse 1.5.0, in order to avoid conflicts with the components that will be installed now with MercurialEclipse 1.6.0.

As your system is clean now, all you have to do is simply installing MercurialEclipse via the Eclipse Update mechanism. Please note that technically, it will be a new plugin installation, not an upgrade.
Download MercurialEclipse by following the installation instructions in its own page.

You can safely close this window now.
